Medicines Line - a new number from 1 July 2010
1300 MEDICINES (1300 633 424) will be the new Medicines Line number from 1 July 2010.
The National Prescribing Service (NPS) has entered a new partnership with the National Healthcare Call Centre Network, healthdirect Australia, to provide a 24 hour telephone health advice line staffed by registered nurses.
Medicine calls will be triaged, with complex calls outside the scope of the national nursing standards referred to either the caller's doctor, community pharmacist, another health professional or to an NPS pharmacist.
The Adverse Medicines Event telephone number has not changed, and remains at 1300 134 237Arthritis SA

Community Voices Program
Four Flinders University students have recently completed a creative project to help motivate people to support others with arthritis.
Community Voices is a program run by Flinders University in association with the Office for Volunteers and community charitable organisations. Third year students, Glynn Morgan, Sarah Bond, Lejle Sarcevic and Simon Williams worked on the project with Arthritis Volunteers featuring in the 30" television commercial.
The commercial is expected to go to air early next year as part of a community service commitment by Channel 9 through Telethon.
